SEACAST Marine Weather Services (MWS), part of the Fugro Group, has a forecast centre in Abu Dhabi, UAE.  MWS specialises in providing extensive support to the Offshore Industry, working offshore with Client's operational personnel and supplying on-site weather forecasting services. The forecasting team has extensive practical experience of operations in the North Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Indian Ocean and South China Sea.  Our principal focus of expertise is the Arabian Gulf and Arabian Sea region, where the combined experience of our six senior forecasters totals more than one hundred years.

• Provision of senior forecast staff for sensitive offshore operations, including advice during cyclone approach situations in the Arabian Sea.

• Rapid data acquisition and assimilation techniques, using latest technology, applied to regional sub-models for accurate wind, wave and swell predictions.

• Provision of desk studies and expert analysis of historical wind and wave data for operational planning, weather downtime, rig selection and particularly for sensitive offshore installation operations.

• 24-hour, 365 day service.

The Data Sources:

• High Resolution global atmospheric and wave model data from both US Navy and NOAA global modeling suites.

• Real-time high-resolution geostationary and polar-orbiting satellite imagery for whole region, receiving data from Meteosat 5, Meteosat 7 and NOAA satellites.

• All available synoptic and upper-level actual and GTS bulletins, using the latest high speed communication methods.
